I quit blogging for a couple of months, have no idea why. I think I should start again. I think it's important to me. I used to keep a diary for a few years when I was a kid. I used to love writing. But now I don't. I don't know why. I think I'm tired. But I'll try. :)

Went to the zoo this morning. He was grouchy and grumpy and sleepy for having to wake up early. The zoo has become boring for us. Same old things all the time. No changes. Boring place. I think we'll have to visit the zoo once every 2 years for it to be interesting for us.

I'll be doing back-end admin work soon. I think it's good for my career. But I'm afraid of the changes. I'm not one to adapt to changes quickly.

We applied to ballot for a flat here at Toa Payoh. I really really really hope we can get a ballot queue number that can allow us to choose the flat that's just opposite my parent's place. I think it's a good move for our relationship. We're moving on. :)

I think I've matured quite a lot. I think I've grown up.

Let's all look forward to work okay! Let's all keep up our cheerful spirit, just like last time! We know there are so many changes now. Every word that they say, we have to listen and follow, even if we don't like it. But we are all together in this! :)

Enough about that. I don't have much things to update on my life, except that I feel that I'm actually at a very happy point in my life. We are on the search for an HDB flat! My parents don't mind, I think. I told my ma, my ma told my sis. I think my pa knows too.

Today is my off day, so met the BF here at Toa Payoh. Went to walk around in search for black socks, because tomorrow will be the first day for me to wear the new uniform. We went around and around but stupid me forgot that there is a Bata shop here, until we saw it, then we dashed inside and bought 4 pairs. Then we had rojak and ban mian for dinner, and after that he came over to my place and we chose the photos that we took in Genting that we were going to get printed.

I'm going to buy some photo albums andprint lots of photos to keep them as memories, the old fashion way. Because we may forget the events that pass us by, but photos can be kept to preserve the precious memories. :)

Returned back from Genting last night. Reached home and about 7 plus. The BF came and stayed over another night. He just left. I think this is the longest period of time I've spent with him. From Tuesday until today. Anyway, going to meet him later again, after he's unpacked everything. :)

Took about 270 photos. :) But am lazy to upload the photos into blogspot, uploading photos into blogspot is a chore. :( But uploading into Facebook is easy, but the limit is only 200 photos, so I've uploaded only 200.

Been looking forward to this day for quite some time, because we're going to Genting tomorrow! And today is the first of my 5 days break from work. Work has been hectic, because of the school holidays. But sometimes we wonder, why are so many people still going to crowded places like the zoo, when the germs of H1N1 are flying around? People are sneezing and coughing but I don't think anyone seems to care, except for the number of people I can count on one hand, who are wearing masks to the zoo.

No more talk about the workplace now, because I'm freeeeee!!!!!!!

Later I'll be meeting my partner, we'll be going to pray at the temple for a safe trip. And we're going to the money exchange and also buy some stuff, then he'll be staying at my place tonight and we'll leave for Genting at 6am tomorrow morning!

443: Our new furry friend!

We have a new friend! Auntie Alice found her yesterday at our shop's backyard. I assume it's a female because when I lifted it's tail I couldn't see any "thing" down there. She must have lost her mother during the heavy rain yesterday. She's a little baby squirrel and she's freaking adorable! I'm in love all over again. We fed her some food and gave her some water and left her in the rat's trap last night before we left. Because we didn't have any place else to keep her.

Someone let her go this morning. I understand we have to do that because squirrels are wild animals and shouldn't be kept as domestic pets. So they let her go. But in the evening, she came back! She must have been unable to find her mother or family and was starving from running about the whole day, and came back to us because we gave her food. The poor thing. Once again, we gave her some food and water. We absolutely HAD to take photos. And I put her inside the Merlion Light Up Pen box and put the box inside my stupid Venus Fly Trap Project (don't ask about that, everyone at work knows that it's a huge failure).

I hope that she'll be warm and snuggly and full of love when I arrive at work tomorrow. She's something new to look forward to. I've decided to name her 小毛. Nobody's keen on that name. I have no idea why.

It's 10:27 now in the morning. I uncovered the Lipton tea bag box. I thought the beetle bug thingy was dead. But just when I was about to get something to remove its corpse, it started walking away, like it was trying to escape!

So I covered it up with the Lipton box again, and this time I put my iPod on top of the box, because I'm now charging my Omnia.

Oi blogger, I've been neglecting you again. Sorry lor.

I've got motivation to blog again. :)

Okay, here are the latest updates on my life. I had 2 days of MC on Tuesday and Wednesday, because I've been feeling sick since last week. And I didn't really want to go to work anyway, so I went to the doctor. I didn't realise that I was running a fever until the lady told me after she took my temperature, which was 37.7 degrees celcius. The doctor asked if I wanted 1 day or 2 days MC, I was like, "Errr...." The doctor said, "Give you 2 days lah, because you have a fever. You must let the fever clear up first." I went, "Ookaaaaay...." But inside my heart I was bouncing like a hyperactive bunny. I know you must be thinking that I'm not really sick right, I just didn't want to go to work. But I was sick okay. But a part of me didn't want to go to work. I guess that part has always been there, teehee.

So, 2 days of MC, plus 2 days of off. I'm now on my 2nd off day. Went to meet Elaine, Auntie Eng Hwa and Auntie Su at Bugis for lunch. We went to a nonya buffet restaurant called Chilli Padi which was located opposite the National Library. The food was alright, but I particularly liked the nonya kuehs. And after sitting there and talk and eat and talk and eat for about 3 hours, we went and walked around until Auntie Su had to go for her aerobics class, then me and Elaine and Auntie Eng Hwa walked around some more and then we went our seperate ways.

I took the bus home. I was sitting near the front of the bus, then an old man boarded the bus. He looked around for a seat, but all the seats were taken, so being the nice, considerate, polite, courteous and adorable citizen that I am, I gave up my seat to that old man. At first he said, "不用啦,你坐." But seeing that I was making no move to sit down myself, he gladly took the seat, thanking me. A few stops later, he got up and asked me to sit down, saying that he was going to alight at the next stop. So I plumped my ass on the seat again. While waiting for the bus to reach the next stop, he stood beside me and told me, "谢谢你，你真的很好。有些人都不管我。很少人会让位给我。" I politely smiled back at him. Then he said, "你知道吗？我 80 岁了还在做工。" I was like, "Har? 真的啊？" He said, "对lor，看不出hor？" I was flabbergasted not by how I didn't believe he was 80, but by why the hell was he still working at the old age of 80 years.

Then the bus stopped, so he got down. After he alighted, he turned around and with a huge smile on his face, waved me goodbye. I waved back too. Too bad our friendship ended there, I would have liked to know him better. He sort of made my day, and in a way, I think I did the same for him. ☺

Everything's fine now. We have to move on sooner or later.

Went to the Zoo (again) with my partner yesterday. As usual, he complained about the heat. But I wiped his sweat for him. At one point it took 3 tissues to dry his face and hair. Boy, can that man sweat. Hahaha.

We left at about 4.30pm, and headed to AMK Hub to watch Angels & Demons.

434: My dream

I dreamt of my ah ma last night. After we received the news from Malaysia, my ma called my 1st aunt to ask her if she wants to go back and see ah ma for the last time, because she hasn't been back there for quite some time. Actually it's been years. And back when ah ma was healthy and fit enough to travel, at times she would come over to Singapore to visit us, and she would go and see my 1st aunt too. Actually, come to think of it, I have never seen my 1st aunt visit my ah ma in Malaysia before. I don't know the reason why but she just refuses to leave the country. She rarely even leaves her house.

The weirdest part of the dream was that my ah ma was healthy in it, ike 2 or 3 years ago. I really want her to be alright. I want her to be healthy. But I'm not really that close to her. Partly because I live in Singapore, and partly because I'm just one out of her 38 grandchildren. Come to think of it, when you are losing someone, you regret having not spend more time with that person. I just have to tell myself that this is part of life. People are born, people will die.

433: Tattoo blues

We went to Changi Airport T3 yesterday. Before that we went to Expo to see if there were any interesting things to see. But sadly there was only a furniture fair and a John Little sale. Then walked around a bit and went to T3. We had Popeye's chicken, as usual. Then walked around and sat at the place where we can view the planes. He leaned on my shoulder and napped for a bit, until my shoulder ached and I shrugged him off.

Then we walked around and went to Harris bookstore. I saw this book about tattoos. I was super engrossed in it. It included the history of tattoos and all. And even had many many tattoo designs and the meaning behind each classification of each tattoo design. You know the genre of music I listen to, so easily I'm influenced by my idols. They have tattoos all over their bodies. It's like their bodies are the canvas for artists, in this case tattoo artists.

So the bf came over and saw what I was reading, I told him I wanted this book. He wasn't too happy about it. Then I told him if I got this book, I might want a tattoo, and after the first one I will want more. He walked away. I put the book back. Then he sulked the rest of the way while sending me home.

After that, on the phone I told him I will not have a tattoo, because I know he would be furious if I did. He told me it's my skin and my body. I can do whatever I like with it. But after a while, he told me that he will never allow me to get a tattoo, because it's ugly and dirty. Even if I got a small one, I will get a bigger one the next time.

I wanted to get a tattoo of Avenged Sevenfold's Deathbat, which looks like this:

But I realized that it's too rough. Then I decided I'm happy with just a small one. Maybe a 力量 on my wrist.

But that's the end of the story. I will never have a tattoo.

Monday

Family came back from Malaysia. Seems like there's nothing very very serious with my ah ma, but still, her time is nearing, but it may take a while. My sister found out that the BF stayed over, because I had forgotten to keep his towel, toothbrush, and shaver. And somehow my ma found out too. I think they were suspicious in the first place. They confronted me, I admitted, they didn't say anything after that. Teehee.

Tuesday

Went for a 4hr grooming course at work. The man taught us how to walk, to sit down, to iron our uniform properly blah blah. As if we didn't know all that already. The lady taught us how to apply make-up, match the colours of our make-up to our uniform, style our hair blah blah. This was kind of useful. They even had us take before-and-after photos, of us with and without make-up. They said they had to submit to HR. WTH. We got a box of make-up brushes and eye-shadow colours for free.

Wednesday

Common off day with the BF. It was also the first day of the launch for The Peak here at Toa Payoh, the DBSS flat that they have started to build now. We took our queue number and proceeded to wait for about an hour before our numbers were called and we went in. We met another one of the BF's army mates. I was so shy. His friends are all so adult-y. But I'm still so very young adult-y. You know what I mean.

Oh my gosh. I loved the 5-room high-ceiling living room, but it costs a frigging $720,000. The 4-room was okay, there wasn't a show flat for the 3-room. But the 4-room costs about $480,000. If I could I would buy the 4-room, but we can't afford that now. Sigh. What a waste, if it was under HDB and a lot cheaper, I'm sure we would have applied for a unit without a moment's hesitation. It's only a 5-mins walk from the MRT station, and right across the street from my parents' place. Haiz. If only.

Thursday

Work. Boring work.

Today

Went to Marina Square with Huling after work. Reached there at about 8.30pm, we had no time for dinner so I grabbed 2 breads from BreadTalk to munch while walking, while Huiling munched on her Subway cookies. We went to Marina Square because Huiling wanted to buy her jeans. I wanted to see if there were anything worth buying. But I saw nothing I liked, as usual. I want to shop! But can't seem to find anything I like. But the things I like are so frigging expensive, like that darned DBSS flat. SIGH.

431: Update

My family left for Malaysia on Saturday afternoon. My younger sister left me an sms and off they went. They've gone to see ah ma. One of my cousins would be driving down to Singapore so they can catch a free ride back.

I called them just now. My cousin and my aunt both answered the phone just after one ring. I guess they're anxious for any phone calls. I asked my ma how was ah ma doing. She said she's alright. She's eating porridge and drinking milk, so her stomach is not entirely empty. I asked if she can talk, my ma said yes, once in a while. She's got dementia, which makes her forget people. But ah ma remembers my ma, if she doesn't, my ma will be devastated. Ah ma doesn't recognize my pa, but it's not surprising, because it's been some time since my pa visited her. It's only right that he goes over now. I'm glad the situation isn't as bad as we thought. My ah ma even said to my family that there's no need to go see her, everything's fine.

The BF came over to stay with me last night, else I'll be alone at home, and who knows what kind of inner demons would be unleashed from the back of my head. I'll probably be thinking up loads of horrible things. But he's gone to work now, and I'll be alone tonight.

I'll just occupy myself with One Piece until I fall asleep. And hope they'll be back when I return from work tomorrow.

430: Looming death

Our family received bad news from Malaysia yesterday. Our grandmother's time is drawing near. My mother is able to take the news calmly, because she has already mentally prepared herself months ago. I hadn't expect it to be so soon. I am weeping as I write this post, because death in the family is my biggest weakness, it saddens and terrifies me more than anything.

Whatever conflicts or unhappiness at work or among friends, any unpleasantness going on right now is at the back of my mind. The only thing that is occupying my mind is my grandmother, I want to go back and see her for the last time, before it is too late.

I envy those who have their family close to them in Singapore. It's at times like this when all you want to do is to run over to see them, be with them, for the last few precious moments. But they are so far away.

I came home last night and saw my ma watching TV, but she rubbed her swollen and red eyes when she saw me, at once I knew that my mother is not as strong as I thought. I myself cannot imagine my own mother dying. I can feel the pain that my mother is feeling.

I cannot stand the solemn and dark air in the house.

Work has been hectic for quite a while, but finally our financial year stock take is done. Time to rest. Am taking 2 days of annual leave this month, going to have some romantic-ness with the BF. It's been quite a while.

Tomorrow's Ubin plan has been canceled.

I realize that I'm tired. Of work, of friends, of trying to please people.

Give me a deserted island. I want to be alone for a little while.

This day marks the 3rd wonderful year we've had together. He's grown up with me, and I've grown old with him. Lots of tears, laughter, and love...

I went to work, he's now at work. No big celebration for us. He's not the romantic type. I can't hold a knife to his throat and force him to be romantic, and anyway I'm not a romantic either. So this day is just any other day. But we're amazed at how fast time flies.

My Valentine's Day was alright, though not a particularly good one this year because I wasn't feeling well and whining half the time. And then the BF ordered the wrong Korean food for me, it wasn't the one I wanted, and I whined super loudly. He looked a little upset. But it wasn't his fault.

I dunno how he's able to stand my whining. I whine like a 5 year old girl. I have to love him more for that.

426: The suay-est day I've had in quite a while

Yes, as you can tell from the title of this post, my day hasn't been good. I was about to go out of the house to head for work when I had a sudden urge to poo. I went to poo, and as a result I was behind schedule, so I rushed.

I jammed my ez-link card and staff pass into the pocket of my shorts and hurried out, without realizing that I had only put it in halfway. And then while I was walking towards the MRT station, that was when I realized that my staff pass and my ez-link card was gone, my pocket was empty. I guess that's how the story goes, for I had gone back the same path I walked several times, gone home to check, emptied out the contents of my bag, and even asked 2 cleaners downstairs if they had seen my card. Someone must have picked it up and put it in his/her pocket, and I hoped that the moment he/she put it in his/her pocket, he/she fell on his butt, or chased by a madman or whatever.

My ez-link card had about $28 value in it, and I have to pay $10 to replace my staff pass. The absolute thing I hate most is to lose money. DAMN IT.

425: CNY steamboat at Orlina's! :)

Was at Orlina's place last night for steamboat! It was a small affair which included, Huiling, Jia Xian, Orlina, Grace, You Se, Clayton, Annabel, Chen Cong, Elaine, and me. It was fun, with loads of laughter and good food. Towards the end, they brought out a birthday cake for me! My birthday's tomorrow by the way. Hahaha. Had fun. And Clayton thoughtfully gave me and Huiling a little voodoo doll as a little birthday gift. :)

Forgot to blog about something reeeally exciting yesterday. Omg I can't believe I forgot about that, that was the climax of the day.

Okay, so the most exciting event of the day was..... The BF and I went to POSB and opened a joint account! I know, we've been talking about it for a couple of months, but we finally did it. It made us feel like husband and wife! We feel married now. :)

OH MY GAWWWD! I'M SO EXCITED NOW I FEEL LIKE JUMPING OUT OF MY CHAIR AND RUN AROUND IN CIRCLES!!!!!

On a more futuristic and realistic note, we'd sort of came to an agreement that we are going to get married next year.

Okay. Enough about that. Today I received my full timer name tag. I kept showing it off to everybody. But they only gave me the "Okay, that's enough" look. I've been wearing the old one for a year and a half now, I think I've got the most rotten-looking name tag of all the staff in the zoo.

422: MY OMNIA! (:

I got my Omnia yesterday! Whee hee!!!!! Although it's only the 8GB version (who needs the 16BG anyway, it's a waste of money and storage), I'm loving it cos it's blacccck. Because I wanted the Samsung Pixon in the first place (cos it's blaccck, and a black touch screen phone is way too coool), I realised that the price of the Pixon and Omnia 8GB are the same, so might as well get the Omnia, which is a SMARTPHONE and have so many many many functions than the Pixon. I did a lot of research before buying it, so I knew that it's truly the one that I want. Pixon is only a JAVA phone with an 8-megapixel camera, whereas the Omnia is a smartphone, and not to mention the 8GB internal memory.

Freebies-wise. The promotion included a free 1GB memory card (but who needs one, when I already have an 8GB internal memory?), and there was this CNY promotion lucky draw thing. I'm using the BF's handphone contract to buy this phone, because my N73 is giving up on me, or will give up on me soon, and I didn't want to hurriedly get a phone when it finally gives up on me, and since the BF's contract ended months ago, he let me use his contract to buy a phone, and I'll let him use mine when mine ends in September.

Anyway, about the lucky draw thing, the guy held a lucky draw box in front of the BF, so he put his hand in but didn't swirl and mix around the contents to choose one, he just put his hand in and pick up the one right at the top. He opened the card and guess what? He won a pair of Sennheiser earphones! The sales guy was a bit surprised, he said, "Wow, that's a good price." And I just giggled myself silly.

Unsurprisingly, I had a lot of difficulty using the Omnia at first. But it's a smartphone, it runs on Windows Mobile, it's very different from normal Java handphones. But I'm starting to get the hang of it. Overall, the Samsung Omnia is a great phone!

I just realised that I'm a gadget geek.

Work was the usual boring shit. School holidays are over so there are generally less visitors to the zoo. Less tourists too, with the ongoing economic downturn.

I know I haven't been blogging. Yes yes yes I know okay shut up nobody cares.

Work is okay, love-life is good, s*x-life is great.

The BF's new job is okay too. He says the job sucks but whose job doesn't suck? His pay is good, though. That means I don't have to worry so much about our future. I'm just a teeny bit envious of his salary. A tiny bit.

As for me, I'm wondering how long can I possibly be able to tolerate working at the zoo. There are good and bad things, of course, once in a while everything is good, good, but then all of a sudden something bad happens and the happiness meter plummets all the way to the bottom, and then it tries excruciatingly hard to crawl its way to the top. Yes I'm trying, trying excruciatingly hard.

I think my fuck-care attitude has brought me kind of far, and I'm proud of it. It's like a "Nothing can beat me, I DON'T CARE!" attitude.

417: Ethan came to visit!

Ethan and his family came over yesterday afternoon. Just after three months, he has grown so much. He's starting to look like a big boy now. Not like three months ago, when he looked like an overgrown baby. We had fun with him. And he's very smart too. He can count to ten, but he's not even 2 years old yet. :)

In the evening I went to meet the BF after work, to bring him over to my place, where he stayed the night. He has to wake up early to catch the first train to get to work, but unfortunately his workplace is at Little India and he stays at Jurong West, so even if he caught the first train of the day, he'd still be late for work. Since I'm staying at Toa Payoh, it's faster to get to Little India. So my ma granted him permission for him to stay over if he has to work on Sunday and public holidays. So last night was his first night. :)

416: Another zoo outing

Another Zoo outing again. This time round went with Suyi, 花姐, Auntie Su, Yi Xian, Valerie, Parinee, Kiam, and Orlina. Went to Kidzworld cos the plan was to play water at the water playground but I endup up sick, with a flu and sore throat due to the after effects of the flu jab. The rest didn't want to play too so only Auntie Su and Yi Xian played in the water playground.

415: Christmas decorations!

I knocked off early yesterday cos Boss wanted me to go SingPost to send a parcel to a customer. Since I could go off early so might as well meet the BF. It's difficult to see him nowadays, with our tight schedules. Surprise! He came to fetch me from work, although he sounded reluctant on the phone. The zoo is quite a distance from his place. But anyway, it's the first time he came to fetch me from work! You can't imagine the happiness I felt, but I don't know if he knows that.

Then we went to send the parcel and had dinner. Then we headed to my place cos he wanted to visit my parents. As usual, they talked a lot. I was quiet throughout. I think my parents really love him.

After that I grabbed my camera and we went to Orchard Road to view the Christmas lighting. This year's decorations are very cute.

My ma and sis came home yesterday afternoon. I had a feeling that they were going to come home yesterday cos they've been gone for 2 weeks. They came home bearing goodies and news and gossips. Cousins are getting married, cousins gave birth... I swear next year I'm going to back there, once my probation ends. They're planning a trip to Genting!

414: I'm alright. Just feeling a little sore

Sore as in my body's feeling sore. Not sore from that thing that happened between me and her.

Fucking hell. After the jab yesterday I was thinking why my body was feeling so tired and aching. Actually it was the after effects of the flu jab. And then the doctor and the nurses didn't tell me that I'm not supposed to eat seafood after the jab, for a few days. I ate some prawns and a piece of sotong fillet this afternoon, and I ate 3 sotong balls from Old Chang Kee yesterday after the jab.

And Elaine said the flu jab makes your body heaty. Immediately after she said that, my throat started to hurt. And I was wondering this morning why my left ear hurts. It's the heatiness. And the gums at the back of my mouth are swollen.

The injection area is kind of swollen now. When I press on it it feels as if there's a blue black there. But there's nothing except for a little bit of swelling. And it freaking hurts. And it feels kind of warm.

I'm feeling better today, everyone. Thanks for your concern. Although however evil my mouth (or my fingers, or my mind) can be, I'm not one who bear grudges. I just need a good night's sleep and all the anger (and whatever emotions) will be swept from my mind. I'm an easy-going person. BUT DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY.

I talked to her today. Don't say I didn't try. But of course I have to talk to her, I work with her. So yes, we talked regarding work stuff. ONLY.

The BF is back. Tee hee. He's starting work on Monday. Whee heee. :)

You know, I never thought that I would bring work home, in this retail service line, but yes, I brought work home. It's that dumb stock-take, damn it. I swear that one of these days stock-takes will haunt me in my dreams. It's inescapable.

I'm having a headache now, from staring at the stock-take list too long.

And I'm still having no appetite.

412: Missing him

I've suddenly got this huge hole in my heart. This hole that needs to be filled by him whenever I miss him.

But he's not around. He went off for army this morning and will be returning tomorrow evening. Can't even call him now. He's gone for route march or whatever they do in the army.

Last night he asked me when do I want to marry him. We seem to be talking more about our future, recently. Actually, almost everything we talk about are our plans for the future. But he's the one who dreams of all these plans. He'd be the one talking and I would be the one listening and smiling to myself.

But baby, in my heart, I'm married to you already.

411: Went for medical check-up

Went for medical check-up this morning. It was one of the troublesome procedures you have to go through before being a full-timer. It was a piece of cake. The flu jab didn't hurt. And the X-Ray was alright, although it was my first time taking an X-Ray.

Something weird is happening to my body. I don't have much appetite lately. I noticed this drastic change in me 2 days ago, when I only ate a small bun for breakfast and it could last me all the way into the afternoon without me feeling hungry at all. These few days it's been like this. Today I didn't eat anything at all until 2.30pm. I wasn't hungry at all. I'm wondering what's causing this loss of appetite in me.

Weird.

Might be work-related stress.

Today's stock-taking was alright. My tiredness eased a little after a can of Nescafe coffee. It's amazing what coffee can do. We finished at about 4.30pm, and I thought we were right on schedule, but I realized that we were quite slow actually.

And then I almost quarreled with her again, because of trivial matters, yet again. I came to work in the morning, then Janis called and said that that person will come in late, at 12pm. I was already a little pissed, because she didn't say anything about her claiming some hours. But she already knew that it was the apparel stock take today, so she should have printed another copy of the apparels stock take list for me. But not surprisingly, she didn't. So I had to squeeze in the figures into the stock take list for last week. After adding in the new figures, the stock take list is quite in a mess. As usual, she said she would come in at 12pm, but she came at 2pm. She came and check on us, and she told us she would print another list for us, and also ask Linda Tan to freeze the system.

So after we finished the stock take, I asked her whether she asked Linda to freeze the system and whether has she printed the new stock take list already, she told me to wait, while she finish up her things. But the things she do are not so important stuff. Stock-taking is very important right? And some more this stock take we have to submit to Linda. Then she bo chap me while I have my tea break, and she proceeded to do her "more important things". I asked her 2 more times when she finally printed out the list for me. To my annoyance, the list doesn't go according to IPN, so it would definitely give me hell if I were to record it with that list, and I only had about 1 hour 15 mins left. I was super pissed then, and asked her whether can the list be extracted out according to IPN, which I clearly knew it could be done. How would I know that she got angry then? I only wanted to let her know that she is making my work difficult that way. But I can bear with it, it would only take me a very long time to complete the list. And she's so bloody impatient, so what the fuck am I to do?

I'm still new. I just converted to full time. This is my first time doing stock take as a full timer. I need a little guidance, is it wrong to ask you questions once in a while? Maybe sometimes I screw things up accidentally, but I'm willing to learn. Stop giving me that irritated face when I ask you questions.

So I asked her whether can the list be extracted out according to IPN, she said something like, "Why not you try extracting it out?" I tried to explain but she went on and on so I was like almost going to explode so I didn't answer her and instead walked out the door. Previously I asked her again if she had asked Linda to freeze the system and she said yes. But couldn't have she told me the moment Linda freezed the system, so I could go out and ask the cashiers to stop cutting the tags of the tee shirts?

So I didn't answer her and went out the door, and went to collect the tags that they have cut, and to ask them to stop cutting the tags. When I came back into the office she looked pissed as hell, which made me even more fucking angry. I swear my blood was boiling in my veins. I mean, come on, it's only a few clicks away to making my job easier, would it cost your life? And when you said "Why not you try extracting it out?", I almost wanted to laugh and extract it out myself, it's so simple, damn it. Back when Auntie Su was still in charge of tee shirt, would you have treated Auntie Su this way? You would have extracted everything out nicely for her.

I understand that she is busy, she has important things to do. But she is selfish in a way that she thinks only she herself is busy, and everyone else is not as busy. But come on, I've been stuck on shop floor the past one week doing stock take. Am I very free? And that day I was complaining to myself that my body aches (which is still aching), she happened to hear it but mistook that I was having headache, she asked me, "You having headache, then what about me?"

I just measured my blood pressure. Luckily it went down. I won't spoil my health because of her.

I remember I had a misunderstanding with Najib and we sort of didn't get along, but we gave in and we get along better now. But with her, I won't give in. One of these days I really will explode. I knew that with my temper, one day I would meet someone whom I won't get along with, I never thought it would be so soon.

People say forgive and forget. But I'm a person who forgives but never forgets.

These days, going to work is like going into a battlefield everyday. The war we fight is the stock take war, and the injuries we get is the tiredness rooted deep in our bones. That's how I feel, for me. Luckily tomorrow is the main stock take, and after tomorrow there will be no more wars to fight, for the time being.

Sadly, I'll be assigned to be in charge of the glow cave from next month onwards. I've been at the apparels section for about 1 year now. But I'll treat this as a new learning experience and also a fresh start. But anyway, I've been working there long enough to know that nothing can beat me. :)

I LIKE TO MOVE IT MOVE IT!

Went to watch it with the BF just now at Jurong Point. The movie was funny, although the BF commented after the movie that I didn't laugh at all. I laughed a little bit lor. But I don't really laugh a lot while watching movies anyway, unlike the BF, I could feel him shaking all over with laughter beside me.

Things are finally looking up for the BF, on his career. I'm very happy for him. His mood is much better too. He's starting to talk about things like bringing me for holidays and sending me for my Degree course. But all of that can wait, baby. :)

But I'm actually quite sad right now. My ma and sis have left for Malaysia, without me! They went yesterday, and this is the first time they have gone to Malaysia without me. I suggested to my ma that I take unpaid leave and go with them but she refused, saying that I have to concentrate on my work. So maybe I'll go next year. I want to bring the BF again. :) Thinking of the time that I brought him over for the first time, he was so shy when I introduced him to all of my family. Anyway, so now that they have left me in Singapore alone with my pa, I have no free dinners. My pa can't cook. I'm sad.

Yesterday I was wondering why I was so sad when my ma and sis left for Malaysia. I was thinking, thinking, and realised with a shock that the reason why I was so sad was because the last time the house was this dead quiet was when my ma was admitted to the hospital. That was the most nerve-wrecking point of my life in this family. Thinking about it still bring tears to my eyes. After being through all that hardship, I swear I will protect my family and my beloved BF.

Geez, I'm being sentimental again.

405: Crazy Crocs Sale!

Went to the Crocs Sale at Expo with Joey yesterday. Was looking forward to this day, cos the sale promised up to 80% discount. But the moment we stepped into the hall, we were bombarded by the sight of hundreds and hundreds of people. We chose our shoes pretty quickly, but the most tormenting part of this whole event was when we queued up to pay. We must have queued for at least two and a half hours. I bought 2 pairs, a Ruby Mary Jane, and a pair of brown Ithaca for only $45! Cheap cheap! We finished paying at about 5pm and after a quick rush to the toilets to relieve our bladders, I went to the MRT station where the BF was waiting for me, and the BF and I headed to Changi Airport Terminal 3 because that man wanted to eat Popeye's Chicken.

"SINGAPORE: A Malaysian contract worker died after being attacked by three white tigers at the Singapore Zoo on Thursday.

The worker has been identified as Nordin Bin Montong. Zoo officials said the 32-year-old had jumped into a moat at the white tiger enclave and was subsequently mauled to death by the white tigers.

Police said they received a report at 12.30pm about a man sustaining neck injuries at the zoo. Paramedics were called to the scene and Nordin was pronounced dead at 12.45pm.

Biswajit Guha, assistant director, Singapore Zoo, said: "Prior to the incident, the zookeepers had actually noticed that the contract worker was behaving erratically.

"He was throwing things around and as he was walking out of the zoo, he passed comments like 'Goodbye, you won't see me again'. He later cycled back and 5 minutes later, the alarm went off."

Nordin had jumped off the ledge into the water and once he was inside the enclave, the three white tigers mauled him for five to ten minutes, while 20 zookeepers tried desperately to save him by distracting the animals.

They were too late, as were the two licensed rifle shooters who were called to the scene.

As a precautionary measure, the white tiger exhibit has been temporarily closed and the 9-year-old tigers, which came from Indonesia, are in confinement for now.

Zoo officials said once the police finish their investigations, they would examine if there is a need to further enhance safety measures.

They added that it is natural for tigers to pounce on any prey and there is no reason to sedate the animals.

In a statement, the Singapore Zoo said the white tiger enclosure measurements conform to international safety guidelines imposed by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Regular animal safety audits are also conducted every month and there is no risk to any visitor or staff at any time.

399: First day of work at Rainforest & my first puff

Went to work at the Kidz World's new shop, Rainforest, yesterday. It's a colourful world! I was like, okay, this place is very nice, but I just realized the shop looks great in photos! It's so colourful I feel like I'm being bombarded by colours when I look at these photos!

So anyway, our retail manager came in the morning and told me and Han that our target that day is $500 each. I'm like, whatever. But of course I didn't give her a guai lan face. But surprisingly, we managed to hit our target. Then the manager called up and told me the boss is very happy with the sales and we can get to eat free ice cream! So when we closed the shopped I ran over to Ben & Jerry's and got me and Han a scoop each. :)

Then after work I waited at the main shop for Jeremy cos he wanted to have dinner. Called up Orlina and Ah Kiam too, but they would meet us only at 10pm. So Jeremy and I went to have dinner at McDonald's at Lot 1. This boy talks a lot, I swear. Then we went to 7-11 and he got some sweets, afterwards he told me he's craving for some cigarettes, so he went and bought a pack. Then Orlina and Ah Kiam arrived and we sat down to chat. And then I was curious about the feeling of smoking. Afterall, Najib has been "encouraging" me. Haha. So when Jeremy was having his 3rd or 4th stick, I asked him for a puff. I was nervous as hell. I took a tiny puff. Not too much, just a little bit. And to my surprise it tasted pretty good. Viceroy Menthol leaves a minty aftertaste in your mouth. Not bad. But of course I wouldn't pick up smoking, the BF would chuck me.

398: Yesterday's date

Went to Raffles City with the BF yesterday. He had an interview with some CJC girls for their project about Business. After that we went for lunch and went to Esplanade. We went to the rooftop terrace and then the sky got so dark! The clouds were so dark and heavy I could practically feel their weight. Then we watched the rain get closer and closer towards us and we ran indoors to the library.

Then we walked to the Flyer to see see look look. The last time we went was when it wasn't officially opened yet. Then walked back to Marina Square, walked one round then walked to Suntec City for dinner. Walked so much my feet were aching. But it was nothing to him. He says he walks 10km when he has to go for army.

395: Our day at Changi Airport

Went to the BF's place in the morning. The day started out quite badly because he was sleepy. And when he's sleepy his mood isn't that good. Went to have breakfast with him, then after that made our way to airport for a walk.

It was a long MRT ride, from Boon Lay to Changi Airport. First we went to Terminal 3 to look for the Zoo retail kiosk inside the departure area. We couldn't go in so we went one level up to look down on the kiosk. Didn't imagine it would be so tiny. They always ask for so much stock, but do they really sell that much? Firstly saw Auntie Jean alone at the kiosk, then saw Auntie Yew Lee. Then we went to the basement for Popeye's chicken and then saw Carine at Crystal Jade's bread shop. Then we went to T1 and T2. Then went back to T3's viewing mall to look at planes until it got dark. Then before leaving I spotted Parinee at one of the cafes buying food.

392: Today's date

Went dating today! But nah, we don't consider seeing each other as dating. More like spending time with each other, which is a lot of difference from the word "dating". But whatever!

The BF was a bit hyper today. Don't know what's wrong with him. But I prefer him this way. Haha.

He came over to my place in the afternoon. He bought some grapes for us and helped to wash the dishes cos he didn't want to feel like he came over just for a free meal. I helped to wash the dishes cos I didn't want him to nag at me for not doing my part of the chores. I soaped the dishes and he rinsed them and put them back on the dish rack. We felt like husband and wife. :) But he splashed some water on me, without realizing it. -.-"

It rained. After the rain died down we went to Vivo City. Cos we have no where else to go, and I've only ever been there once (yes, I know, that seems ridiculous). Walked around for a bit. Spent most of our time at Best Denki playing XBox 360 games, PSP games, Nintendo DS games. The DS consoles were disgusting and greasy from too many dirty fingers. Yuck. I dragged him away when I felt bored.

I've realised my patience level is quite low. Especially when shopping. He likes to take his own sweet time.

Then we sat by the sea as the sky got dark. He put his arms around me and it was rooooomantic. Then we went for dinner.

Latest update: ETHAN IS COMING BACK ON 6TH OCTOBER!

I think this time it's confirmed. :) I requested off on that day to go to the zoo with 花姐 and Yi Xian. But now I have to, really have to look for another common off day between the 3 of us and change the outing date. Cos I really really want to be here when Ethan comes back. I want to be one of the first ones to see him come back. You won't understand how important that is to me.

391: Reservist sucks!

The BF went for reservist but luckily it's for two days only. Right now he's back at home safe and sound, probably snoring away at this moment. Talking about his snoring, it's a miracle how I can fall asleep with him snoring like a dinosaur beside me. We're made for each other. :)

Reservist sucks for the both of us. He gets body aches and I miss him terribly. Although most of the time his reservists are in Singapore. I get this feeling that he's very very far away. It's as they say, "So near, yet so far".

He's still got a few more years to go, before he is completely free from the crutches of the damned Singapore law of reservist.

Spent the morning at the BF's house. He starts work at 3pm. So went to meet Jia Xian at City Hall to go shopping at 3pm.

Went to Marina Square first. I'll be converting to full time next month, so I bought black Crocs for work. They're so comfy but I'm starting to feel guilty about wearing Auntie Jean's pair all the time, since she's at T3, so might as well buy myself a pair. Then bought 2 pairs of shorts. Then we went to Suntec and I bought a shirt from Cotton On.

Spent more than a hundred dollars in all.

387: I bought an IPod Touch!

Went to the Comex show with Orlina on Saturday and bought an IPod 8GB. I was just thinking about getting a new IPod the week before, cos my first generation IPod Nano has been with me for almost 3 years, before I even met the BF. So then was contemplating whether to buy the IPod Classic 80GB or the IPod Touch, but I couldn't resist technology, so then went ahead and bought the IPod Touch. I took the 8% discount promotion.

Am quite surprised by the lack of emotion on spending such a large amount on a luxury. Don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. But I'm loving my Touch Touch!

I wanted to get the IPhone in the first place, but it's just too bloody expensive, so the next best thing is the IPod Touch. I gave the Nano to my sis.

Spent this morning with the BF. My poor BF. He's limping. He's got some kind of muscle pain in his left foot, after the 8km road march at army last Wednesday. Hope the foot is going to get better soon, cos my heart aches to see him limp.

385: Joint bank account! :)

The BF suggested last night that we set up a joint bank account for funding our future home. That's equivalent to him asking me to marry him! Imagine how delighted I was, I went to sleep smiling to myself.

I thought it was a GREAT idea, we'd save a little amount each month and deposit the money into that account. It's like putting aside a little money for our future. And the bad thing about saving our own money in our account is that we don't put in a fixed amount each month, and we might accidentally use the money. In our joint account, he stated the rule of ONLY depositing, but NO withdrawing.

OH MY GOD. I am soooo happy. :)

I cried after lovemaking this morning. I was lying on top of him and he took my face in his hands and we looked into each others' eyes when I asked him, "What would I do without you?", then put my face on his chest and burst into tears. The prospect of that happening scared me, I couldn't help myself. And I cried because of how dependent I am on him. The tears rolled down my cheeks and onto his shoulder.

He reassured me to make me stop crying and whispered words like he loves me and that we'd get married next year. That made me feel better.

383: At the end of the day

Felt kind of important at work today. Linda Tan, our retail director, is calling us up practically everyday to ask us to transfer stock to the kiosk at T3. I only did a day of transfers for her on Friday and guess what she said when she called this afternoon, and I picked up the phone? She told me she wants me to be in charge of the T3 transfers, which means that I must pack everything up, change the price tags to prices without GST, fill in the internal transfer forms, and now my additional job is to consolidate all the transfers, day by day, into an Excel sheet. Which meant that I spent 2 hours in the office sitting in front of the computer, typing. While everyone else is on the shop floor working their asses off. Although I get to relax and sit down, but somehow I feel a little stressed, with the additional responsibility. Najib even gave me a clear folder to put in the transfers, for my own reference. He called me the acting supervisor/assistant supervisor.

But at the end of the day, I'm still a part timer earning $6 an hour.

382: Ethan Boy was here!

It's been about 2 months since I last saw him. His parents brought him over in the afternoon, stayed for about 45 minutes only, the family had a date with their friends.

It was weird, after not seeing Ethan for such a long time. He's grown taller, his hair's fuller, he runs faster, and can speak some words like "No more", "Please", "Daddy", "Mummy", "Barney", and "Bye bye".

He was shy at first, he didn't dare come into our house when they reached our doorstep. He only came in when his mother called to him. His father said he has to warm up first. After a while, after he warmed up, he played with us and danced when his father played the Barney song on his handphone. When it was time to go, he hugged each of us a few times and even kissed us on our cheeks. His "Byebye" was adorable.

We were all delighted when his father asked when they could bring him back. My ma said we thought they were going to keep him with his aunt for good. Ethan's father said that was only temporary. So right now we only have to wait until my ma doesn't need to go to the hospital or polyclinic for any appointment, and until then can Ethan come back to our house.

I managed to snap a few pictures of him, he even smiled for the camera. :)

The BF came over too. But too bad he missed Ethan by 10 minutes. He hasn't seen him for a very long time too. We did nothing much. He helped to burn a recovery disc for my laptop. Then we watched some Olympics and he read his book, I watched a movie on my laptop. He wanted to go to the library but it was raining and I didn't feel like going, because it was cold. Then I must have ate something wrong cos I had a little diarrhoea. The BF just left.

Have to work tomorrow. Nowadays have been dreading work because of the work load. New kiosk is opening at T3 so the crew there has been sending a list of things to be sent over. The whole week I've been doing transfers, but the tedious job is the paper work. Yesterday the shop was short handed. I was supposed to be the cashier for the Tees section but the moment I stepped into the office at 8.30 in the morning, the phone rang and I jotted down all the list of things to be sent to T3, that took me about half an hour, and I spent the rest of the day collecting all the things to be transferred, writing the things down on the internal transfer forms, and tagging the price tags. Luckily I had a little time to get ready the stocks that arrived that morning. And since I was the cashier, I was busy with all the transfers that I only opened my counter for about 2 hours. Which meant that I didn't have enough money to cover my float. Which meant that the moment I prepared my float money, I closed the counter. I closed counter 1 at 6pm. Total sales $200+. I did OT yesterday.

Please! Enough of transfers!

381: Plans plans plans

This is my 381st post since I started this blog on December 2004.

Plans. Plans of getting married, settling down, having babies. Thinking up plans like these at the age of 19. I'm in a hurry. The BF's 31.

I've set our ROM date as 09.09.09. Next year. Soon, baby. Until then we'd have a steady income and savings.

A flat. Our home. Our love nest. Teehee.

My first love. My first BF. My first man.

He has asked me, in the past, of what is true love. He asked me that question a few times, during our first few months together, back when it was the sweetest part of the relationship. I told him, "True love is being with you, baby."

But thinking back now, what really is true love? I have no idea.

Is it the willingness to sacrifice EVERYTHING for him? Or being able to remain married and live with him for the next 50 years?

I can't sacrifice everything for him, but I want to be married to him for the rest of my life.

Sometimes I'd sit and think, of how lucky I am to have got to know him. I can't list out all his good points. Because I love everything about him, except his unromantic-ness. He's not a romantic, I can't get him to be romantic, he doesn't believe in romance.

We met in IRC. Back when he was lonely, back when I was lonely. Amongst the thousands and thousands of IRC users online that very moment, we chose each other to talk to. I can't even remember what we chatted about, didn't even know his real name, his age.

I've never regretted giving him my number.

I'm a HUGE believer in fate.

Waited in anticipation for 2 weeks and it's finally here. The delay is due to stress of, something. Regarding life. Growing. Inside. Me.

We thought I was going to be, well... You know.

Although I was the one who was more worried. He said we wouldn't be so lucky.

I thought I glimpsed a flicker of disappointment in him when I came out of the toilet at the zoo yesterday and told him, "Baby, there's blood." And he replied, "Oh, no baby."

But now's not the right time, we both understand that. But we'd still be happy if I were to be, you know.

I think he wants to be a father, now?

But in the meantime, I'm glad that it's here. It's relieved me of all my doubts. I don't have to go and buy another one of those bloody expensive $16 tests.

We call these periods 大姨妈, but in some countries, they call it Aunt Flo. Hahaha.

Oh, I love you, you whole load of bloody mess.

But the cramps are killing me.

Day at the Zoo

Went to the zoo with the BF this morning. He was a little sleepy in the morning so I thought he didn't want to go, in the first place. I was nervous when I introduced him to my friends and colleagues. This is the first time, I swear. I've only ever introduced him to my family. After two and a half years together, oh well. Anyway, after that things started to perk up.

At first when we alighted the bus it started to rain heavily, but after a while the rain died down.

We enjoyed ourselves very much. :)

3rd tiring day at work

These 3 days have been very very busy for me. Home is the only place I look forward to. Can't help feeling a little stressed now that Auntie Su's not around. Cos she has asked me and Elaine to take care of her tee shirts.

Was stationed at tees today, of course, but ended up running errands the whole day. Main shop to AMP and back and to AMP and back and to Night Safari shop. Was busy the whole day to the extend that I didn't look at my watch at all. Or to have a drink of water.

Was on the way to AMP in the afternoon. A guest stopped me on the way to ask for directions to the tram station. I was heading in that direction anyway, so I asked her and her family to follow me. She was very grateful cos they seemed quite lost. As we chatted on the way she suddenly said, "你在动物园作工，为什么还是白白的？" I laughed and told her I work at the souvenir shop, I don't work under the sun.

Friendly people make my day. In this line of service, you have to talk to your guests like they're your friends, and I like that.

After the hectic-ness of the day died down a little, I was in the office and chatted with him. I couldn't help myself, I can't put up a cold front. So eventually my heart has to give in. I guess I'm not the kind who can bear grudges for long, even if he made me very very angry.

I've given in, he has, too.

The laptop is back!

The laptop was down. There was nothing the BF or I could do so we sent it for servicing. Actually we could get it back immediately the next day but I had to work. So I only got it back this afternoon. The laptop was missed. But now I've got it back. :)

Having a terrible backache now. Right knee is aching too.

Something bad happened at work yesterday. My attitude towards him will change. For now.

Spent the morning at the BF's place. We had our usual Monday morning workout. Then we went to Acer to collect the laptop, and then had lunch, and then sat in the library until 7.30pm, after which I went home. This is how we enjoy our dates. Hahaha.

At Jurong East Library with the BF right now. Went to his house just now cos he wanted to study for his Japanese test on Sunday, but he complained it was too hot and so we went for bak kut teh then came here.

He's finally studying now.

Last night had dinner with Valerie, Yi Xian, Su Yi, Hui Shan, Huiling, Grace, Jia Xian, Eng Hua, and Clayton at AMK Hub's Fish & Co, cos it's Valerie's last attachment day at the shop. Sort of like a farewell dinner. But of course we'll still be able to see her for gatherings, unlike Win, who left all of a sudden back to Thailand, we didn't even had a proper farewell. I promise to e-mail her now and then to see how she is.

Was out with the BF just now. You know, he has this habit of thinking up really quirky stuff all the time. Some are hilarious, but some are just plain silly. Out of nowhere just now, he asked me, "What if one day the government decides to set up a 'Human ERP'?" That really got me laughing. And he went on to spell out all the details. Like, we'd all be inserted with a microchip that cannot be removed and will only stop working when we die. Then we'd go past gentries and the machine will go "BEEEP!".

HAHAHAHAHA!!

Then after that I bought Cleo (saw the cover at Popular. It had a section, "100 gotta-know sex facts", that's why I wanted to buy the magazine, but all the facts turned out to be rubbish.), at Jurong East interchange and ran to catch the bus but forgot to kiss him goodbye. Felt like something is missing, like our date isn't complete.

But it's okay, we're going to have a full make-out session on Monday.

WHY CAN'T WOMEN BE LIKE MEN WHEN THEY USE THE TOILET?

It's super irritating lor. Most of the time the reason why the BF has to wait for ages for me to pee or shit is because the queues are damn bloody long and each woman takes ages to pee or shit.

The other day I was at Singapore Expo with the BF. We each went our separate ways to our respective toilets. There were 3 women queuing in front of me. But I only got to a cubicle after around 10 minutes. Bloody hell. Don't know what the hell are they doing in the cubicles. Don't know whether were they peeing or giving birth. After I peed, I went out to find that the BF has gone somewhere else to look at some things, having gotten tired of waiting. Each time I take a long time at the toilet I have to explain to him, "Long queue."

I love it when he holds my hand in public.

Especially in MRTs. But I'm shy of the way people sometimes look at us. But he's oblivious to that. It's like there's only the two of us in the whole cabin.

It always used to be me holding his hand. But now he's the one doing it. He used to be shy, I guess.

He wouldn't even kiss me goodbye, in the past. But now he's doing it automatically. Comes and pecks me on the lips, when I say goodbye.

I love that he's so gentle, but so masculine in bed.

Was at the BF's place this morning. He starts work at 3pm on Mondays so I usually see him for half a day. But it rained the whole morning and well into the afternoon. So we went for lunch and came back to wait for the rain to subside. Cos he has to bring his stocks to his push cart, you see. And he can't afford to let his stocks get wet. We only decided to head out at around 4.30pm. Really enjoyed this morning, baby. You were gooooooood. :)

Last night went with Huiling after work to meet Peiying for dinner. Wanted to go for our school days' favourite tau huay at first but ended up going to a coffee shop near PY's place for the western food there, but ended up there were too many orders and too many people waiting for their food so they had to stop taking orders but we thought they were closed. So we ended up eating tze char. And then after that we went to McDonald's and had vanilla cones. We pretended that we just came out of prison after being locked up for 19 years. Cos we couldn't find vanilla cones on the menu, and we weren't sure if they still had them. To tell the truth, I haven't eaten one in years. And then after that we finally went to have tau huay, but we were too stuffed and shared a bowl of tau huay and some peanuts and almond.

A very troublesome day

I was a very troublesome customer and a very troublesome gf today. Here's the very troublesome long story:

Common off day for the BF and I. So he came over in the afternoon to visit my ma and have lunch. Then after that I told him I needed to buy a new wallet, cos my current one is in a disastrous state. I have 3 $10 Taka vouchers with me from the SingNet BroadBand so we headed to Taka, our first stop.

He doesn't like to shop. But he offered to go along with me so I led him around the wallet and bags section at Taka, because I'm always changing my mind. Then he said he needed wanted to go somewhere else cos my taking him around and around is making him dizzy. So he went off someplace. I don't like to keep him waiting so I went back to my first choice which is Guess and bought a medium sized blue one without really checking the compartments and all that. After the 20% discount and the $30 vouchers, the wallet amounted to $25 plus.

Then we headed to Singapore Expo for the Library used books fair. That was our main objective of the day. He bought 3 books and 1 book for my sis. Then we went to Coffee Bean and he had a ice blended chocolate. I had a hot chocolate cos I was freezing. Then I happily opened up the new wallet to put in all my things and that was when I found out that the wallet didn't have the transparent compartment for the photos. Big big disappointment. Then discussed whether to go back and do an exchange. We decided to go back. I felt guilty for dragging him around and around and asked if he wants to go home instead. But he chose to accompany me. What a nice BF. :) But actually we wanted to go to Changi Airport and have Popeye's for dinner. Ended up didn't go. :( We headed straight back to Taka again.

Upon reaching the wallets and bags section, I went to look for the salesgirl that served me just now and told her I needed to do and exchange. I wanted the smaller and cheaper one with the transparent thing for the photos. The rest didn't have that compartment. She said they couldn't do a cash refund so I need to get something else the top up the balance amount. Wanted to get another cheap wallet at the sales corner actually. But spotted a nice Comoditee bag at the sales corner. So I decided to take that. Cost $49.90. When the salesgirl brought me to the cashier, I realised with a jolt that I had forgotten to remove the BF's namecard from the wallet that I had bought earlier. So I apologized and told the salesgirl and she went to get it again. Then I was a little confused about the amount that I that I had to pay, which was $41.70, the salesgirl and the cashier had to explain it to me. But I still didn't get it but said I understood anyway, to spare myself any further embarrassment. Then thanked them and apologized again and went off to one corner with the BF to calculate again and realised that the amount I paid was right.

Ugh. Spent too much today.

Okay. The number of stops that the BF made today: from Jurong West to Toa Payoh, from Toa Payoh to Orchard, from Orchard to Expo, from Expo to Orchard again, and from Orchard back to Jurong West.

Just finished the walnut cheese cake that the new Philippino girl got me. It's niceeee. Shared it with my ma and sis.

OFF DAY TOMORROW! Am going to Expo to see the library used book fair tomorrow with the BF.

鸟山一日游！

Actually we went for only about 3 hours. Thought that "鸟山一日游" sounded nice. Anyway, met up with Joey, Parinee, Huiling, Huishan, Clayton, Clayton's brother Dino, Kelvin, Bee Yan, and Su Yi and we went to JBP. It's free. We only have to show our Singapore Zoo name tags. :)

Fireworks!

Went to meet the BF after he ended work. He told me he heard planes when he was at work, so it must be one of the NDP previews or something. So we ate dinner then headed down to Esplanade area.

We were only halfway there when we heard the fireworks starting. Then we walked as fast as we could and got there just to see the last few seconds of it. The fireworks were only golden colour, they must have used the colourful ones at the beginning of the fireworks.

Sigh... Watching fireworks with your loved one is the most romantic thing ever.

After that we went back to Raffles City. On the way back, we passed by this building.

Sigh... Sweet sweet memories. I still remember it was on the 58th floor. He doesn't remember.

Then we had a watermelon ice blended drink from the bubble tea shop at the basement of Raffles City. And then we went home.

Sigh... He has crows feet. Hahaha. Baby, you old already lah.

A Problem

People have asked, with me and the BF's age gap of 12 years, have we had any problems with our age difference? I've always said no.

But we found a problem last night. I got home at around 12am, having gone to Night Safari with Par and Orlina to have dinner at Bongo Burgers, and after that Annabel came and Hun Loon took us for a buggy ride. And then we missed the bus so I got home pretty late.

He wasn't happy with that.

I've always noticed that he's upset whenever I get home late. But most of the time I manage to catch the last train or bus. So it's not late, late. I always thought it wasn't a big deal, and just shrug it off.

He wasn't angry, he just sounded upset on the phone. And with my character like this, although I knew what he was upset about, I still went ahead and asked him what's wrong.

I guess... At his age, he's the kind who goes home after work if nobody asks him out. And at my age, I'm the kind who likes to go out and have fun. But I have my limits, I don't go clubbing or pubbing or stay out late at night and not go home. I just like to spend some time with my friends once in a while.

He's told me his fear of me growing up and meeting new friends at new workplaces, those who are in their 20s and 30s who go drinking after work and partying until late night. Therefore, turning into what his ex became.

Sometimes I feel like he thinks that I'm still a little girl, that he always have to be there for me, to ward off baddies and stuff. I've asked him and he's said that he's a little apprehensive of what I'll grow to be in a few years' time. He's not confident to let me face the world. Something like that.

Some time last year, my sis and ma went over to Malaysia on their own and I agreed to meet them there in a few days. Told them I'll be going over on my own. The BF wouldn't let me go alone. It was either I don't go at all, or he goes with me. Although he really really didn't want to go, I insisted on going there, so ended up he went with me to Malaysia.

Baby, I'm old enough to take care of myself, although sometimes I may need you to guide me. I know what kind of person I will become but I won't turn into the kind of person you fear I would be. Baby, I will be good for you. Don't worry.

After a wonderfully tiring day...

Tiring because it's been a very busy day, and wonderful because I got a nice surprise afterward.

Today worked opening shift but did OT, I need all the money I can get. In the morning, I went to the warehouse with Auntie Su to get the stock for the tee shirts. Had to open the cartons and check the stock and all that. It took 2 hours, and after lunch went back again to finish up. After getting the stock, we have to drive all the cartons back to the shop so Selamat got the buggy and Auntie Su and Selamat sat at the front, and me at the back with all the cartons. It was fun!

And at the end of the day I got a surprise. But shhh, it's a secret. :)

Just got back from the BF's place. Sweating like a pig now, it's so hot out there. The BF starts work at 3pm every Monday, so I usually take this time to go over in the morning. He helped to burn a backup disc for my new laptop. And then watched Superhero on his computer. And then did some other things... Twice. Teehee. (:

First I get him to smile...

Unwanted attention

Met up with the BF after his Japanese class. Went to Challenger at Funan and bought a laptop bag. Turned out to be quite big for my notebook. Couldn't decide to buy the 14 inch bag or 15 inch one cos was worried that the 14 inch one wouldn't fit. So bought the 15 inch one.

Then we spent a short while at Raffles City. You know the place where you could look up to Topshop on the 2nd floor? Where there are 3 mannequins posing at the glass railings, looking very life-like? Ladies wearing skirts or dresses really SHOULD NOT stand at the railings. Cos we were walking past and I always like to look up to see the mannequins, and I saw a fourth one move. Turned out it was a lady and she was wearing a skirt! And when she turned and walked away I could see her bum! So I nudged the BF and told him what I shouldn't have seen.

But I didn't mind. It was a young lady. And the BF always like to tease me about my being turned on by women. Which isn't 100% untrue. But he doesn't mind. But I WOULD mind if he gets turned on by men. Which I think is impossible.

So here's a little message to the ladies: don't wear skirts and go near glass railings!

Another day at the hospital

Was supposed to work today but had to cancel cos I had to accompany my ma to the hospital for 2 appointments. Just got back home. The doctors arranged another 2 appointments for her. Looks like my ma's going to have to be in and out of the hospital for the next few weeks.

The nurse opened up the bandages and I saw the wound for the 2nd time. It has healed reasonably well but when she picked up a pair of scissors and proceeded to cut away the top layer of the wound, my heart skipped a beat.

My sis and I could only watch in horror as she snipped and snipped away at the red flesh, and blood spilled down my ma's foot. But the funny thing was my ma didn't seem to feel any pain. The nurse and my ma chatted while the nurse cut at the flesh. After she was done, I asked my ma if it hurt. She said a little. She didn't know that the nurse was cutting at her flesh, and was kind of puzzled when she looked down to see that her foot was bleeding. Luckily she didn't look at her foot while the nurse was cutting. After that we asked the nurse why she had to do that. She explained that the top layer of the wound is bacteria. She had to cut away the top layer to keep the wound clean.

Wasn't in action for the past few weeks due to computer break down. Not really break down actually. You see, here's the story...

One day I opened up the little drawer of my computer table to look for some stuff. Ethan Boy passed by and saw me opening it. Being the smart boy that he is, he opened it and played with my things inside while I was at work. One of the things inside the drawer includes my Windows XP OS CD. He ripped out the plastic covering the CD booklet, the bad thing is the plastic contains the product key. So one day my pc crashed, I needed to reformat the computer, and found the product key missing. I was in quite a rage after that. Pissed with Ethan Boy. Decided to confront him the next day.

So the next day, I sat him down and asked him, "Ethan, plastic leh?" And pointed to the CD booklet. He made his trademark gesture of "no more", meaning he didn't understand what I was talking about. I repeated the question and he repeated the gesture with quite a serious look on his face. That made me forgive him instantly.

Everybody blamed me for losing that product key. Nobody blamed Ethan. I was the only one who blamed him. But I guess everyone's right. I should have copied down the product key or stored the disc in a safe place where he couldn't get his itchy little hands on. Yes and how can I bear to blame a one and a half year old little boy whom I've watched growing up. He's 2nd place on my list of favourite people. #1 is the BF. He loves Ethan too. I love them both. :)

Okay, there's the story of why I was cyber inactive for quite a few weeks. But now I've got this Acer laptop that I got for free (not really, $83 per month) when I signed on a SingNet BroadBand plan. Went with my sis to Acer to redeem it yesterday.

An update on my life. After the missing product key episode. My ma was admitted to the hospital due to an infection in her right big toe. Problem is she's also a diebetic. Infection spreads very quickly for diebetics and the bad news, the only thing the doctors could do was to amputate the big toe and cut away the infected areas on the top of her foot. She stayed in the hospital for 17 days. Life was miserable for us. There was still pus on the wound after the operation. If the pus didn't clear up, the doctors would have to amputate her whole leg. Having lost one toe was already so bad, we prayed and prayed that my ma could keep her leg. Everytime we received the bad news the grief we felt would start all over again. We prayed everyday, hoping she would get better quickly, hoping that the Gods would help. My ma sat on the hospital bed every morning and prayed. We prayed everynight at home. Sometimes the pus would stop, sometimes the pus would be back. Imagine what the good and bad news did to us. I was a total wreck. I would cry when I remembered that huge row that I had with her before she was hospitalised. I regretted so much I hated myself then.

Luckily the BF was around. He gave my family so much mental support. He visited my ma at the hospital, told her positive things which I didn't even had the hope to tell her. I could only listen as they chat. Sometimes he would catch me with my eyes all red, then he'd put his hand on my arm to tell me, "Don't let your ma see you like this."

The best thing is, I've realised that my family likes him so much more after my ma was discharged. The day ma was discharged, she asked me when the BF was going to come visit her. My pa likes him, my sis likes him, my ma loves him. I feel that he's part of my family already.

He's always there when problems arise, when I feel helpless. I really can't thank him enough.
